Save the boundary waters. NO on HR 140. Tourism is more profitable than mining

To: Sen. Collins, Sen. King

From: A verified voter in Lewiston, ME

February 14

Save the Boundary Waters. Vote NO on HR140. The boundary waters are a stunning vast and precious area of unspoiled wilderness. Removing mining protections and opening them up to toxic permanent pollution from sulphide mining -- for the benefit of one Chilean magnate no less-- is a terrible idea. If you don't care about the environment then consider: the tourism revenues from the Boundary Waters area make more profit than the mining scheme that would ruin them for one- time polluting extraction. Do not destroy and desecrate the splendid wilderness that we hold in trust. No on HR 140
