I’m writing to urge you to condemn and call for an independent and thorough U.S.-led investigation into the killing of 20-year-old U.S. citizen Sayfollah “Saif” Musallet by violent Israeli settlers in the illegally occupied West Bank on Friday, July 11. Musallet was beaten to death while trying to protect his family’s land from invasion. Saif is at least the seventh American killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers since October 2023, yet there has been no accountability from Israel, the IDF, or the U.S. government. [1] The U.S. has a legal and moral obligation to protect its citizens. On January 20, Trump revoked former President Biden’s executive order enabling sanctions on Israeli settler violence against Palestinians, or on organizations that support them. We urge you to condemn Saif’s murder, call for a thorough and independent investigation, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
