Victims need better protections than bills that go on to punish them simply being victims. FOSTA and SESTA did not stop Jeffrey Epstein, nor did obscenity laws keep him from victimizing countless women and girls. Making stronger laws requiring platforms to erase the data of victims and minors and to not gather it would be better than blocking sites and forcing people to use scans to access the Internet. Requiring restrictions on AI would prevent deepfakes and AI-produced CSAM. Narrowing obscenity laws to focus on materials made with real people would allow law enforcement to move more quickly in cases involving abuse and trafficking. Please make these improvements. Don't censor the Internet.
