I am writing to you today as a concerned constituent to urgently request that you support Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. This request follows the President's recent decision to engage in a direct, kinetic military conflict with Iran without the constitutionally mandated authorization of Congress. Under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, the power to declare war is vested solely in the Legislative Branch. By initiating an offensive war against a sovereign nation without a prior Declaration of War or a specific Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), the President has: • Violated the Separation of Powers: Usurping the clear constitutional authority of Congress. • Breached the War Powers Resolution of 1973: Failing to consult with Congress and engaging in hostilities without statutory justification. • Endangered National Security: Bypassing the deliberative process designed to weigh the long-term consequences of global conflict. The executive branch cannot be allowed to bypass our democratic checks and balances to unilaterally plunge the nation into war. This is a fundamental "High Crime and Misdemeanor" that threatens the very foundation of our Republic. I urge you to uphold your oath to protect the Constitution and hold the President accountable for these illegal actions. I look forward to hearing your position on this critical matter.
