I am a small business owner which provides no shortage of things to navigate and worry about. But lately the biggest concern is that I am facing losing my food benefits and my health coverage because of the inability of my elected officials to their jobs. Unfortunately starting a business which is in its first year has led to very little income so I have come to rely on SNAP and Medicaid to help afford my basic necessities while the money I can earn and have saved goes toward keeping my home. But now SNAP is paused due to the government shut down and my Medicaid CCO is leaving my county due to funding cuts and I am unsure if I will be able to keep my doctors or medications. Health care is a human right. Food is a human right. Greed is tearing this nation apart and feeding off its citizens. Do your jobs. Come to an agreement that for once puts constituents first. We are not collateral damage in your power games.
