Reject damaging policies against renewable energy growth

To: Sen. King, Sen. Collins

The proposed bill's provisions to eliminate clean energy tax credits and levy punitive new taxes on the wind and solar industries are utterly misguided and destructive. These measures represent a blatant attack on renewable power sources that are vital for combating climate change and transitioning away from polluting fossil fuels. After years of growth fueled by forward-thinking policies, the wind and solar sectors now face potentially catastrophic consequences from this legislation's draconian approach. Companies have invested billions predicated on continued federal support, while manufacturing facilities and projects currently underway could be scuttled by this abrupt policy reversal. Revoking subsidies and imposing harsh new taxes will cripple these industries, eliminate jobs, raise costs for consumers, and grievously undermine climate progress and energy security. This egregious bill must be forcefully opposed and rejected as an unconscionable act of sabotage against clean energy and environmental responsibility. Our future demands accelerating the renewable energy transition through supportive policies, not destructive partisan attacks.
