Preserve Federal DEI Programs, Promote Equity and Inclusion

To: Rep. Bresnahan, Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Archbald, PA

April 26

The Administration's decision to terminate all DEI, DEIA, and "environmental justice" programs across the federal government is misguided and harmful. These initiatives promote equal opportunity, foster diversity and inclusion, and work to rectify longstanding inequities. Removing them will only serve to perpetuate systemic biases and discrimination. The government should lead by example in creating a more just and equitable society for all. DEI efforts help ensure fair consideration and treatment regardless of race, gender, disability status or other characteristics. They provide valuable training to raise awareness of unconscious biases and create more inclusive environments. Dismantling these programs undermines our democratic values of equality and justice. Rather than abolishing DEI completely, the Administration should work to strengthen and improve these initiatives based on proven best practices. A diverse and inclusive workforce and society benefits everyone. I urge you to reconsider this executive order and maintain federal DEI programs that promote opportunity for all Americans.
