I am writing in grief and in rage over the killing of Renee Nicole Good. Renee was a wife, a mother, and a bystander. She was not a threat. Yet she is dead, shot and killed by an ICE officer. The character assassination of this mother by Trump, Vance, and Noem only deepens the horror. This was a completely avoidable death, and it demands accountability, not the gross and disgusting spin those three monsters (i.e., Trump, Vance, and Noem) are spouting. No federal agency should be allowed to kill a civilian and then investigate itself behind closed doors. That is not justice. That is impunity. I am demanding that you: 1. Publicly call for an independent investigation into Renee Nicole Good’s death. 2. Hold ICE and DHS leadership accountable for the policies and culture that made this possible including impeachment of Noem. 3. Support real limits on the use of lethal force by federal law enforcement Renee Nicole Good mattered. Her life mattered. If Congress does nothing, it is complicit in allowing that ICE agent get away with murder and allowing this to happen again. I expect you to speak out clearly, forcefully, and now. I expect action, today.
