An Open Letter

To: Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Memphis, TN

January 29

Please vote no on funding ICE. Vague statements about a plan to reduce the number of agents in Minneapolis is meaningless. Our tax dollars, through the actions of the ICE, have funded two executions of civilians in the street. Two civilians who posed no threat to anyone and were breaking no laws. We do not want ICE in Minneapolis or Memphis or Atlanta or Portland or any other democratic city where you keep sending masked goons to kill us. ICE is operating with no accountability and no supervision. ICE is murdering Americans got exercising constitutional rights and then our government is lying about the victims and lying about events. That agency as it exists is despised by a clear majority of Americans because most of us still believe our eyes. You cannot in good conscience possibly continue to pay ICE to commit crimes against citizens, to murder citizens. ICE funding should be withheld entirely until there are many specific and measurable reforms in place. As a representative of the people, it is truly dereliction of duty to continue subjecting us to the danger ICE poses to us all.
