Oppose the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act

To: Rep. Carter, Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

May 12

I'm calling on you to oppose the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act. During a time where kids are being deported and trafficked, it's concerning to me that Congress is choosing to focus on banning speech and altering the definition of obscenity. This ignorance coupled with the blatant disregard for the Constitution doesn't protect the most vulnerable in our society. ICE agents slammed a child's head against hard pavement. Cancer patients are being deported. A family in Oklahoma had their house raided by mistake. Trump is threatening all three branches of government openly. And yet the focus is on banning books and fictional content? If trust is to be restored in government then the government should do the right thing and stop participating in the culture wars and focus on fighting authoritarianism. Thank you.
