I urge you to reject any potential recess appointments to the President's cabinet and instead insist on a full and transparent Senate confirmation process for all nominees. Recess appointments circumvent the constitutionally-mandated system of checks and balances and deny the Senate its critical advice and consent role. While the Constitution allows for recess appointments in certain circumstances, unilaterally appointing nominees without proper vetting would undermine our democratic institutions. The American people deserve a cabinet that has been thoroughly vetted and approved through established procedures. Recess appointments deprive citizens of this essential safeguard. I call on you to uphold the Senate's constitutional duty and demand each nominee go through the regular order of confirmation hearings, committee review, and an up-or-down vote by the full Senate. This process ensures transparency, accountability, and input from all stakeholders. Attempts to bypass it would be an affront to our core democratic principles. Our government derives its legitimacy from the people. Circumventing confirmations would corrode public trust and faith in the system. I implore you to take a stand against any recess appointments and insist on the constitutionally-prescribed process for vetting and approving the President's cabinet. Upholding these institutional norms is vital for preserving the health of our democracy.
