Defund ICE, Fund Office for Civil Rights & Civil Liberties, vote ‘No’ on HR 140
To: Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Durbin

February 15
I am so angry about the violent and ruthless behavior of ICE. I want you to work to pass every item in the Democrats’ ICE “wish list.” But I also want Congress to fully fund The Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties because they are charged with inspecting ICE detention facilities and investigating officers’ use of force. This office has been all but eliminated. It is imperative that it is funded staffed, and given binding enforcement authority. Please make sure it is!
Second, please vote ‘No’ on house resolution 140 when it comes to the Senate. If passed, it would reverse the 20 year mining ban in and around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. The Boundary Waters belongs to all Americans. I value it and want to see protected. Vote no.
Thank you.
