The proposal to forcibly occupy and displace nearly two million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip for profit-driven real estate ventures is an affront to human rights and a blatant war crime. It threatens to sabotage ongoing ceasefire negotiations, putting countless lives at risk. This illegal occupation and mass displacement of civilians under the guise of "rebuilding" must be condemned in the strongest terms. Congress has a moral obligation to take a firm stand against such unlawful invasions and flagrant violations of international law. Reject this unconscionable scheme that would only exacerbate the long-standing conflict and inflict further trauma on an already besieged population. A just and lasting peace can only be achieved through a negotiated two-state solution that respects the rights and dignity of all people.
