Support the FDA Modernization Act 3.0: End Unnecessary Animal Testing

To: Sen. Collins, Sen. King, Rep. Pingree

From: A verified voter in Cumberland Center, ME

July 31

As your constituent, I urge you to support the bipartisan FDA Modernization Act 3.0. This bill is a major victory for animal welfare, preventing millions of animals from undergoing painful, unnecessary testing in laboratory settings. Crucially, transitioning to advanced methods like organ-on-a-chip technologies and computational models also improves drug safety by providing far more accurate predictors of human biology. While FDAMA 2.0 lifted the legal mandate for animal testing, outdated FDA regulations still refer to animal models, creating regulatory confusion; this bill directs the FDA to formally replace those outdated references. Please support this essential step toward more modern, effective, and humane science. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
