Oppose or amend Texas' SB 20 before the AI moratorium bill

To: Rep. Carter, Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

May 20

SB 20 in Texas is poised to be heard in the House for a second reading. The constitutional issues with the bill overshadow the good it could actually do if it wasn't written so broadly. Furthermore Congress is considering a bill that would place a ten year moratorium on any regulatory laws or bills regarding AI, including Texas' SB 20. If passed by the House and signed into law, SB 20 could run afoul of the moratorium or not be enforced at all. Essentially, SB 20 would be useless when stripped down to the bare bones of what's left: speech in general, which makes SB 20 nothing more and nothing less than a censorship bill. Oppose SB 20, or amend its flaws before the moratorium.
