I am writing to express my strong opposition to the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. This position requires an individual who prioritizes evidence-based science, public health, and the well-being of all Americans. Unfortunately, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of spreading conspiracy theories and dangerous rhetoric makes him wholly unfit for this critical role.
Mr. Kennedy has been a vocal proponent of anti-vaccine misinformation, perpetuating unfounded claims that have undermined public confidence in lifesaving immunization programs. His statements linking vaccines to autism, despite overwhelming scientific evidence debunking this myth, have fueled unnecessary fear and contributed to the resurgence of preventable diseases. Such baseless assertions are not only irresponsible but also pose a direct threat to public health.
Furthermore, Mr. Kennedy’s promotion of other conspiracy theories—ranging from COVID-19 misinformation to unfounded claims about government overreach—raises serious concerns about his ability to approach complex health issues with the objectivity and expertise required for the role. The HHS Secretary must be someone who can build trust and lead with integrity, not someone who fosters division and mistrust in science.
I urge you to reject this nomination and advocate for a candidate who is qualified, credible, and committed to safeguarding the health and safety of our nation. This is not a partisan issue; it is about ensuring that the Department of Health and Human Services is led by someone who values facts, evidence, and the common good.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
