Do not pass any spending bills until ICE is disbanded

To: Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth

From: A verified voter in Chicago, IL

January 29

I have just read that the Democratic Senate caucus is ready to rubber stamp five of the spending bills and a CR on the DHS bill. I do not understand what has to happen for Democratic leadership to understand that giving this administration *any* money at this point is collaboration. Last weekend I marched with thousands of other Chicagoans in the freezing weather in solidarity with Minneapolis. I don't understand how the minority can even be thinking of signing on to any bill that does not smash the administration's secret police into pieces. People are being shot by ICE, dying in concentration camps, children are being abducted at schools -- what are you thinking? Everyone can see that this is intolerable! Why are you not pressing your advantage to put an end to this regime? I am so tired of regular people putting their lives on the line for their neighbors and watching the people who are supposed to represent us just roll over. When will you say no more? If not now, when? How many more people need to be shot for expressing their rights? I urge you to refuse to vote for any funding until ICE is disbanded -- it cannot be reformed. They are more than happy to commit murder in camera and lie about it. They are happy to threaten people with masks on or off. This is the time to press your advantage. I urge you to tell Senator Schumer and any other members of the capitulation caucus to think again.
