As a constituent residing in Bloomfield Hills, MI and my vote relies on your response and action. I am writing to demand an immediate change in federal spending priorities. I am deeply alarmed by the continued funding of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. complicity in the catastrophic humanitarian crises in Gaza and the escalating conflict with Iran. I urge you to vote against any appropriations bill that funds these violent operations. ICE and CBP have proven themselves incapable of operating without severe abuse, with recent reports showing lethal force and deadly targeting of immigrant communities. Taxpayer money should never fund terrorizing our neighbors. I demand you advocate for a total halt in funding for ICE and CBP and reallocate those resources toward community needs, such as healthcare, housing, and education. Furthermore, I am appalled by the ongoing violence in Gaza, which has resulted in countless civilian deaths and starvation. The United States must stop supplying weapons to Israel that enable these atrocities. The reckless path toward war with Iran, driven by a desire for military dominance, serves only to create further instability, fuel regional collapse, and profit the military-industrial complex while endangering American lives. I am asking for your firm commitment to: Defund ICE/CBP: Vote "no" on DHS appropriations that increase detention or enforcement funding. Ceasefire Now: Support an immediate, permanent ceasefire and an arms embargo to Gaza. No War with Iran: Oppose all military action and diplomatic provocations that escalate conflict with Iran. We are watching to see if you will stand with human rights and community safety over military intervention and carceral enforcement.
