Please protect our progress on climate change. Don't bargain it away when you compromise with Republicans. It isn't like other issues. What you give up, you can't get back. That extra carbon won't get sucked out of the climate when the next Democrat (hopefully) takes the White House. It will just continue making the world hotter and less safe for all of us. Whatever the political incentives, it is, as I'm sure you know, an issue on which all other issues are contingent. Please do not forget your power, and your responsibility, to help.
