Oppose bills like KOSA and protect Section 230

To: Sen. Warnock, Rep. Carter, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

September 9, 2025

I'm writing to ask you to protect Section 230 while rejecting bills like KOSA, IODA, KOSMA, the SCREEN Act and BlockBEARD. Senator Josh Hawley's proposal would only punish users, not big tech. Big tech has a lot to answer for, but making data protection and consumer privacy a priority should be a better solution. I'm urging you to also oppose the listed bills, as they would turn out like the OSA in the UK. These bills are not made to protect families but to censor and endanger them by forcing them to use AV software that is subject to leaks and data theft. This data is sold illegally on the dark web and is used to make CSAM. Please protect the Internet. Thank you for your time.
