When can we impeach Trump and his entire administration? They are repeatedly breaking laws and endangering all of us, particularly peaceful protestors and those who are here from other countries seeking asylum and work. When can we invoke the 25th amendment on a President and cabinet who are making dangerous decisions impulsively? I am a counseling psychologist, and while I cannot diagnose somebody that I don’t have a clinical professional relationship with, it is very clear to any reasonable person that the President’s words, decisions, and actions are not rational and are quite dangerous. If the system of checks and balances is not working because he and his cabinet are overriding it, what is the next step aside from peaceful protest? What are you doing to stop this? We are so close to war on the streets, in addition to isolation from allies that have historically protected us. There are too many dangers at once. These are not rhetorical questions. What do you do next as lawmakers? What can we do as Americans? I am a 47-year-old single mother of a child with special needs. I am paying too much for health insurance since the ACA subsidies ended. I worry daily about my daughter’s safety at school, both because of the rise of gun violence and the fact that her school serves immigrant and refugee families, many of whom live in Clarkston, who are living in fear of ICE raids and unlawful detention and deportation. This has to stop. We need to focus on making life better for our communities. Affordability of childcare, healthcare, and everyday expenses. Protecting the environment. Ending violence of all kinds. Lifting children out of poverty. Instead we are living in dangerous chaos and fear. What are you doing now? What are the next steps?
