Don't cave on ACA subsidies. Last night I saw that some democrat senators had voted to potentially accept a republican plan to reopen the government on the "promise" of a future vote on ACA subsidies, which keep healthcare costs low. The president is currently using sick kids and hungry people as leverage to get what he wants. Capitulating to this nonsense is like Charlie Brown trying over and over to kick the football only for Lucy to move it at the last second. The "promise" of a bill being brought to vote has just as much chance at being passed and signed into law as Charlie with that football. The election results on Tuesday showed how people are feeling about this current administration and are urging anyone with a conscience to hold the line. If the party with majority control wants to reopen the government, they should be willing to bend to what Americans want, which is food AND healthcare, not one or the other.
