Please support Rep Richie Torres’ Power to The Players act. Gamers have already lost games they paid full price for, with the understanding that they owned them. The publishers and store fronts, including those of PlayStation and Xbox, should not be allowed to change that understanding after the fact. They use streaming services as examples but those streaming companies, such as Netflix, never said we were purchasing their movies. Recently PlayStation said that if they sold a digital game to someone then no one else would be able to play it. These companies need to stop insulting our intelligence, and while we can choose not to buy games going forward, only a law will stop them grabbing what we already own. Only a law will stop them using the words, “purchase” and “buy.”
