Vote No on the SAVE America Act (H.R.7296)

To: Rep. Walberg, Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Stevensville, MI

March 11

I need you to vote no on H.R.7296, the SAVE America Act, and oppose any attempt to bring it to the Senate floor. This bill is voter suppression disguised as election security. The SAVE America Act would require voters to present a narrow range of citizenship documents when registering, blocking access for tribal natives, married women who changed their names, children of military personnel born overseas, and countless other Americans without ready access to these documents. It would also severely limit mail-in voting, the only voting method available in eight states and Washington DC. Non-citizen voting is already illegal, and there's no evidence it has ever impacted an election. This bill solves a problem that doesn't exist. The bill provides no funding for states to implement these changes and no grace period for compliance. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer correctly called this "Jim Crow 2.0" and warned that if it passes, "democracy will be in very serious danger." Trump is now demanding the bill be rewritten to include bans on transgender youth in sports and gender-affirming care, further weaponizing legislation against vulnerable communities. Stand with democracy. Vote no on H.R.7296.
