Stop the Media Monopoly: Block the Warner Bros. Discovery–Paramount Merger

To: Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff, Rep. McBath

From: A verified voter in Fairburn, GA

April 25

I am writing as a constituent to express strong opposition to any potential merger between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Global. This kind of consolidation would further concentrate power in an already highly consolidated media landscape. Fewer major players means less competition, fewer choices for consumers, and reduced opportunities for independent creators and smaller studios to compete. Beyond economics, this raises broader concerns about the concentration of cultural and informational influence. When a small number of corporations control a significant portion of what Americans watch and consume, it limits diversity of thought and undermines a healthy, competitive marketplace. Antitrust laws exist to prevent this exact outcome. I urge you to support strong enforcement by regulators such as the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission and to oppose any merger that reduces competition in the media and entertainment industry. Please stand for fair competition, consumer choice, and a diverse media environment by rejecting this merger. Thank you for your time and representation.
