I oppose the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr to lead the federal agency overseeing public health. Appointing RFK Jr would be a grave mistake, his well documented history of spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories about vaccines pose a direct threat to public health and safety. Putting someone with fringe anti-vaccine views in charge of agencies like the FDA and CDC risks eroding public trust and undermining efforts to combat preventable diseases. We should be following the guidance of legitimate medical experts and scientists, not empowering individuals who peddle dangerous pseudoscience. Vaccine hesitancy has already led to tragic outbreaks of diseases like measles. We cannot afford to have someone actively hostile to immunization leading our public health institutions. For the wellbeing of all Americans, this prospective appointment must not go forward.
