Please vote for SJ Res 182 the Congressional Review Act

To: Rep. Gomez, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

From: A verified voter in Los Angeles, CA

May 8

Please vote for SJ Res 182 the Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to overturn the Department of Education’s recent Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) rule. PSLF was a promise made to people who chose public service with the understanding that their loans would be cancelled after 120 payments and years of service. Changing that promise now – or applying it selectively based on politics – undermines trust and harms those who have dedicated their careers to serving others. This issue is bigger than any one field or profession. It affects teachers, healthcare workers, nonprofit staff, and many others who entered public service in good faith. They should not lose access to PSLF because of shifting political views about the value of their work. Please respond with a confirmation that you will vote to protect PSLF for your constituents. Protecting PSLF is about fairness and honoring commitments made to public servants.
