People living with autoimmune diseases are still waiting for Congress to pass the Safe Step Act and bring urgent reforms to the practice of step therapy. The current one-size-fits-all step therapy policies often delay access. I am living with autoimmune disease, as are millions of Americans— MOST OF THEM WOMEN. Denying us effective therapies is discriminatory; delaying recommended treatments can lead to crippling side effects The Safe Step Act (H.R. 5509/S. 2903) would ensure that employer health insurance plans offer an expedient and medically reasonable step therapy exceptions process. This will empower individuals to navigate their insurance and help them access the treatments they need in time. Please support this Act!
