Jeanine Pirro's nomination as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia raises serious concerns about the impartial administration of justice. Her promotion of false claims about the 2020 election being "stolen" and her role in defamation lawsuits regarding these baseless theories demonstrate a troubling disregard for facts and the democratic process. Additionally, her past statements appearing to justify the criminal acts of January 6th rioters who attacked the Capitol are deeply alarming for someone being considered as the top federal prosecutor in our nation's capital. The U.S. Attorney's office has a vital responsibility to uphold the rule of law without regard to partisan interests. Appointing a highly partisan figure who has fueled disinformation campaigns could further undermine public trust in the integrity of the justice system. I urge you to oppose this nomination and insist on a U.S. Attorney committed to pursuing justice objectively and safeguarding our electoral foundations.
