Reject Cuts to Medicaid and Medicare to Fund Billionaire Tax Giveaways

To: Rep. Thompson, Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman

From: A constituent in State College, PA

March 7

I am writing to urge that you reject the mandatory spending cuts laid out in House Concurrent Resolution 14 as the budget process continues. Congress must pass a budget that actually benefits Americans instead of slashing funds to essential life-saving programs like Medicaid in order to finance tax breaks for the wealthy. The $880 billion spending cuts mandated by this resolution to the Energy & Commerce Committee will unquestionably lead to deep cuts into Medicaid. If the reconciliation bill that follows this budget resolution includes cuts to Medicaid, or any other essential program like Medicare or SNAP, I will hold this office accountable for lying to us constituents. I would like a written response from the legislative aide assigned to this policy area.
