The campaign finance system in the United States has become deeply flawed, allowing wealthy special interests and corporations to buy outsized influence through unlimited and undisclosed political spending. This undermines the core democratic principle of political equality and drowns out the voices of ordinary citizens. Without comprehensive reform to overturn disastrous decisions like Citizens United and enact common-sense limits, our democracy itself is at risk of being auctioned off to the highest bidder. We must take urgent action to get big money out of politics and protect the integrity of our elections. I urge you to prioritize and champion meaningful legislation that will curb the corrosive influence of money in politics, increase transparency, empower small donors, and safeguard the right to vote for all Americans. Our democracy's survival depends on taking on this systemic corruption.
