Stop punishing SNAP recipients with Pathways requirements!

To: Rep. Williams, Gov. Kemp, Sen. Watson

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

December 16

The SNAP Pathways program requirements are discriminatory, impossible for people with disabilities to fulfill, and the benefits aren't worth the effort to maintain. They are not going to reduce fraud, but instead punish individuals whose only crime is being poor and unable to work. Just like SNAP Works, Pathways is doomed to failure and set to shut out the people who need them most. Working 80 hours a month is impossible, unless you're a robot. This requirement is cynical and was made in bad faith on purpose. I have seen this before, and have sadly lived it. The Works requirements forced participants to submit 10-12 job applications a day. No one could do that much back then. Enough is enough! Stop punishing SNAP recipients!
