Your oversight is needed. In light of Judge Cobb's ruling allowing Congress to resume unannounced visits of ICE facilities, it is time for you to enter the facilities without givi ng ICE advanced notice. This needs to happen immediately so as not to allow time for the ruling to be appealed and to ensure ICE is following the law. Your vigilance is critical to ensure detainees' human rights are met and they have proper access to food, bedding, health, and hygiene needs. So far 30 people have died in ICE custody this year. You have the power to stop the cruelty and demand transparency and accountability from ICE. Please do not delay in making unannounced visits. Lives, families and our communities are at stake.
