I'm concerned that ICE is now arresting about 2,000 people a day nationwide, sweeping up people who work and raise families here, and even U.S. citizens. Last week agents detained more than 30 people at a Birmingham plant, and a citizen from Robertsdale was handcuffed even though he showed his REAL ID. I'm asking you to demand real oversight of ICE, starting with a public accounting of how its funding is spent and an independent investigation of detention conditions, including the Etowah center in Gadsden. This is about due process and stopping the waste of our tax dollars on mistreating our neighbors. Please act now.
