Reallocate Defense Funds to Domestic Needs: Prioritize Citizens' Welfare

To: Pres. Biden, Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet, Rep. Lamborn

From: A constituent in Colorado Springs, CO

April 27

The recent allocation of $825 billion in the Defense Appropriations Act for FY 2024 raises questions about our national priorities. While it's commendable that the bill supports servicemembers and their families, and rejects discriminatory practices, it's concerning that such vast resources are directed towards military endeavors. This funding could be redirected towards initiatives that directly benefit citizens, such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. It's crucial to reassess our spending priorities, shifting focus from military expansion to the welfare of our citizens. Therefore, it's requested that future appropriations bills prioritize domestic needs over military investments. This would demonstrate a commitment to constituents over the defense industry.
