This is what reckless foreign policy and economic nationalism produce. Middle-income Americans are shopping at dollar stores. People earning $200,000 are using buy-now-pay-later plans for purchases under $100. One strategist has argued the real poverty line should be $140,000. These aren't statistics to file away — they are your constituents telling you something has gone badly wrong. I need you to use every tool available to push back on these wars, oppose tariffs that punish our allies, and cut off any support — military, financial, or diplomatic — to governments committing genocide.
