If the Federal government refuses to pay Washington and other Blue States our fair share of funding, why can't states like Washington withhold federal payments in return. Blue states are net contributors: including California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Washington and Illinois. They consistently send more in federal taxes than they get back in federal funding. Red states are net recipients and many receive more in federal aid than they contribute in taxes. They are essentially subsidized by blue states.
Blue states prop up the system and now they’re done being punished for it. So taxpayers like me in a Blue states need to push back. I want clarity - can individuals withhold federal tax when the government fails to deliver on its end? Please push back and bring this issue to the table in Washington.
