I am writing to urge you to support impeachment proceedings against HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his systematic dismantling of public health protections and betrayal of the promises he made in his inaugural address. Kennedy pledged radical transparency and unbiased science, yet within 10 days of his speech, HHS rescinded a 54-year-old policy requiring public comments on new rules and regulations. He has communicated policy changes through pay-walled media, fired a whistleblower, and dismissed advisers without explanation. This is not transparency. This is the opposite of what he promised. The consequences are measurable and deadly. The CDC awarded an unsolicited $1.6 million grant for a vaccine study in Guinea-Bissau with ethical concerns so serious that experts have compared it to the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. Twenty-six states have rejected official CDC vaccine guidance due to changes made under Kennedy's leadership. Pertussis killed 13 people in the United States in 2025 and continues spreading. In November 2025, Washington state recorded the first human H5N5 avian flu infection and death. A measles outbreak beginning in January 2024 now threatens the elimination status of both the United States and Mexico. Kennedy has overseen the withdrawal of FDA warnings about raw milk and chlorine dioxide, a substance falsely marketed as an autism treatment. The NIH shuttered programs studying air pollution's health effects while cutting-edge research on mRNA vaccines, diabetes, and dementia has been denied resources. HHS withheld a report linking alcohol consumption to cancer. Thousands of public health datasets are no longer available, crippling our ability to monitor drug overdoses, maternal mortality, and food security. The destruction of one year will take generations to repair. Congress must exercise its constitutional oversight authority and hold Kennedy accountable through impeachment proceedings. Our constituents' lives depend on functional public health infrastructure, not politicized junk science that serves industry interests over public safety.
