Recent reports make one thing painfully clear: we are being told this country “cannot afford” Medicare, Medicaid, or childcare because we are “too busy fighting wars.” In the wealthiest nation on Earth, there is supposedly no money for seniors, children, or vulnerable families—because of a conflict this administration chose to enter without clear justification or accountability. This is not a budgeting problem. It is a failure of priorities. You were elected to serve the American people—not to rubber-stamp endless military spending while families are crushed by rising healthcare costs, unaffordable childcare, and economic instability. Americans are being told to tighten their belts while billions are poured into war. That is unacceptable. Congress has the authority—and the duty—to act as a check on this. If there is “no money,” then demand transparency. Reassert your constitutional power over spending. Redirect resources where they belong: here at home. We demand immediate action: • Hold hearings on war spending versus domestic needs. • Provide a full accounting of the cost of current conflicts. • Protect and fully fund Medicare, Medicaid, and childcare programs. • Present a clear plan to end or de-escalate unauthorized military engagements. Americans should not have to choose between healthcare and war. Parents should not be forced out of the workforce because childcare is unaffordable. Seniors should not fear losing the care they depend on. If there is money for war, there is money for the American people. Your inaction is complicity. Your silence is endorsement.
