I am sickened, disgusted, and outraged by today’s news that federal immigration agents shot and killed a protester in Minneapolis — a citizen peacefully expressing his First Amendment rights. This is horrific and deeply antithetical to the values our nation claims to uphold: justice, dignity, and the sanctity of human life. The deployment of armed federal agents without transparency or accountability has escalated fear, unrest, and distrust throughout our communities. We cannot accept a situation where protesters are met with lethal force for exercising constitutional rights. This must stop now. I urge you to call for an immediate halt to these operations, demand full accountability and independent investigation, and ensure that federal agencies adhere strictly to constitutional protections. Anything less is a betrayal of the principles on which this country is founded. Our country deserves better than violence and chaos. We deserve safety, justice, and respect for every person’s rights.
