Support SB 360! Lower prescription costs and protect local pharmacies.

**Support SB 360 to Lower Prescription Costs and Protect Local Pharmacies**
I urge you to support Kansas Senate Bill 360, which will lower prescription costs for your constituents while ensuring the survival of rural community pharmacies across the state.
SB 360 creates a reimbursement floor based on the National Average Drug Acquisition Cost plus a professional dispensing fee of $10.50 or the Medicaid professional dispensing fee, whichever is higher. This approach directly addresses the spread pricing practices that inflate costs for patients and employers while squeezing independent pharmacies out of business. When middlemen extract excessive spreads between what they pay pharmacies and what they charge insurers, those costs get passed to consumers through higher premiums and out-of-pocket. This legislation, backed by Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicky Schmidt, establishes a fair reimbursement model that has already proven successful in controlling costs.
Your constituents deserve access to their local pharmacies without paying inflated prices that enrich pharmacy benefit managers. When community pharmacies close due to below-cost reimbursements, patients lose convenient access to medications and face longer travel times, which leads to worse health outcomes and higher overall healthcare costs. SB 360 protects both pharmacies and patients by ensuring sustainable reimbursement rates while eliminating the hidden markups that drive up prescription costs.
I ask you to vote yes on SB 360 to lower prescription costs for Kansas families and preserve access to community pharmacy services.
