I am writing to you because I just saw that evidently the Democrats are going to pull off chicanery so they can allow the CR without getting blamed for it . Let me assure you -- if the CR passes, you are making a grave mistake. You will be party to the damage being done to our government. This is your chance to hold the Republicans' feet to the fire and force them to actually take action against Trump and Musk's overreach. If you blow this, my anger at the Democratic party and at you, if you do not come out and tell your colleagues to vote against it, will be off the charts. I am getting really tired of the bulk of the party, after sounding the alarm about fascism during the election, rolling over time and time again. I am tired of seeing Democrats vote for Trump nominees. I am tired of seeing the most mealymouthed defenses, if that, of vulnerable populations and critical institutions. I voted for Democrats to do their jobs and protect our democracy with all they could, and I am sorely disappointed. I will be even more angry if you attempt some "well, I didn't really vote for it" nonsense to allow this CR to pass while trying to dodge blame. You allow this at your own peril -- they are already disappearing people, do you think Trump isn't going to come after political opponents? He, and his FBI director have already promised to do so. If that isn't serious enough for you, what is? If you aren't worried about that, let me assure you I will work for whoever is your opponent in the primary if you don't rise to the occasion. Please do your duty and vote no on this CR -- do not allow them to continue with this campaign unabated.
