Public dollars should serve every child, not fund discrimination. LGBTQ+ children and children of LGBTQ+ parents deserve equal access to publicly funded preschool.
Michigan Rep. Tim Walberg co-led a congressional brief supporting the Catholic schools challenging Colorado’s preschool nondiscrimination requirements, and Rep. Tom Barrett signed it too, according to Walberg’s official announcement.[house]
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy on November 3, 2026. At stake is whether religious preschools may receive public funding while seeking exemptions from protections against discrimination based on children’s or parents’ sexual orientation or gender identity.[advocate]
No child should lose a preschool opportunity because of who they are or whom their parents love. When public dollars support education, equal access should be the standard.
Tell Congress: reject taxpayer-funded discrimination and protect equal access for every family.
