I write to you once again, afraid for the future of public education. Recently bill to amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 was introduced to Congress, and inside it contained a prohibition clause on books pertaining to gender dysphoria and 'transgenderism'. Being transgender is a fact of life for countless students, including those young enough to be in elementary school. I ask you to defend the right for these children to see themselves reflected in the books of their school libraries. I ask you to defend the livelihoods of my librarian colleagues, your constituents. I ask you to vote a resounding NO on HR7661. There is nothing sexual or perverse about being transgender or experiencing gender dysphoria. Stand with the psychology, stand with the science. Vote NO on HR7661.
