I'm writing to express my disgust and concern about numerous anti-obscenity laws popping up across the nation. Texas' SB 20, Arizona and Mississippi's laws, Kansas's law that allows for sites and stores to be sued, Missouri, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, all these states still allow child marriages to continue and yet the laws in each are more concerned with 'obscenity' than the horrors of being forcibly married off to a much older person. SB 20 is the worst state bill I have ever seen because it's written in such a way that no exceptions are made for legal speech and expression. Yet that same state has supporters of SB 20 who voted against a bill that would have raised the age of marriage to 18. Is this the case in all states that have enacted anti-obscenity laws? As a constituent I am writing to ask you to support laws that end child marriages and oppose censorship bills like SB 20 and the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act, along with KOSA and the SCREEN Act.
