H.R. 22, the save act

To: Rep. Huizenga, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Battle Creek, MI

July 5

Because all 3 of my congressional members voted for the Laken Riley Act, H.R. 7511. A very cruel law that allows without due process of law to incarcerate immigrants with non violent crimes to be held indefinitely with no provision for release if they are later found not guilty. I believe this is why we are seeing such unconstitutional actions against immigrants and I personally find it disgusting. The facts are that US citizens are more likely to commit violent crimes than immigrants. And because you all voted for H.R.7511, I’m asking you to vote NO on H.R. 22, Save Act, that will require citizens to now have to prove their citizenship before voting, by using their passport or birth certificate, that requires the last name on the document to match the name on the voter registration. The republicans are just attempting to disenfranchise voters because when every voter shows up and votes they have less of a chance to win and they are still pushing the BIG LIE about the 2020 election that immigrants and others are voting. This lie has been debunked. So senators Peters and Slotkins filibuster and vote NO on H.R. 22. I know I’m speaking to deaf ears but representative Huizenga please vote NO on H.R. 22.
