Co-sponsor and Pass the Reimagining Safety Act

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Manor, TX

October 15

Co-sponsor and vote yes on the Reimagining Safety Act. This bill would abolish ICE, CBP, and DHS and replace them with a community-centered Department of Public Safety, while preserving critical functions like FEMA and TSA. That is exactly the kind of structural overhaul our immigration enforcement system needs. The case for this bill is written in the consequences of the current system. People have died in custody. ICE and CBP agents have killed people, including two U.S. citizens shot during an immigration operation in Minneapolis this past January. Families have been separated and individuals deported to third countries. A January Economist/YouGov poll found 46% of Americans support abolishing ICE. This is not a fringe position. It is a response to documented, repeated harm. Congresswoman Ramirez sits on the House Homeland Security Committee and has built this legislation around those harms. Support it.
