Investigate ICE

To: Rep. Clarke, Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand

From: A verified voter in Brooklyn, NY

May 31

I’m writing to you in disbelief and outrage over the horrifying incident recently reported out of San Antonio, where at least three migrant children, some as young as 9 years old, were zip-tied and detained at an immigration court, after a judge had dismissed their case. Source: https://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/migrant-kids-zip-tied-20351707.php What kind of nation are we becoming when we allow government agents to treat children like criminals - children who have done nothing wrong - right in the halls of our justice system? According to the report, these children and their adult companions were seized and restrained by agents allegedly claiming to be FBI, acting under some opaque new directive to support ICE enforcement. This appears to be a deliberate policy shift - one that tramples civil liberties and basic human decency. What happened in that courtroom is not just a bureaucratic overreach - it is state-sponsored child abuse. We cannot let this slide into normalcy. It is your responsibility to immediately investigate this incident, demand answers from the DOJ and DHS, and ensure that those responsible for this outrage are held accountable. Furthermore, I urge you to push for legislative oversight to prevent law enforcement from abusing families in immigration courtrooms under the guise of "policy coordination." These children deserve better. America deserves better.
