From: A constituent in Rockford, MI

NO to $72 BILLION BLANK CHECK FOR ICE/CBP I am a voting constituent writing to express strong opposition to the proposed $72 billion funding increase for ICE and CBP currently being pursued through the reconciliation process. Providing these agencies with a massive infusion of capital—bypassing traditional bipartisan negotiations and oversight—is a dangerous expansion of enforcement power that lacks essential guardrails. Taxpayer dollars must not fund agencies that consistently fail to uphold human rights and basic dignity. This proposal ignores critical demands for reform, such as professional law enforcement standards and stronger warrant requirements. Without robust accountability measures, this funding fuels aggressive conduct that has already resulted in preventable deaths and systemic abuses. The lack of meaningful congressional oversight in this bill is unacceptable. It effectively creates a multi-year slush fund for mass deportation while diverting resources from essential domestic needs like biomedical research and education. Reject any funding for ICE and CBP that does not include enforceable accountability measures prioritizing human rights, health, and transparency. Our immigration system should reflect our nation's values of justice and dignity, not serve as a mechanism for unchecked abuse. Demand accountability before another dollar is spent.
