I urge you to vote against or change S. 5653. As written, the bill will: 1. Exempt many federally funded projects from review, including highways, bridges and other construction in our communities; Ignore harm that doesn’t involve a bulldozer, like an overpass looming over a historic district or noise from a data center; 2. Let federal agencies decide on their own that preservation doesn’t matter, with less accountability and less recourse in court.
